The stone was rediscovered and named by Miguel Mendez after his daughter “Larissa“, and after the Spanish word “mar” which means “sea”. By combining these two words, he gave Larimar meaning.
This blue pectolite soft stone is also widely known as “Stefilia’s Stone”, “Atlantis Stone”, and “Dolphin Stone”.
